Payments processing channel
When consumers buy goods and services online using debit cards, credit cards or bank transfers, they probably do not appreciate the number of parties involved
The customer orders from the merchant, who has a merchant account with an acquiring bank that processes credit card payments on behalf of the merchant and routes them through the card networks to the issuing bank
The issuing bank either confirms or denies the payment and relays this back to the acquiring bank allowing the merchant to confirm the payment with the customer
